Journeys: the Silk Road
Our newest permanent gallery is a fun hands-on exploration of the legendary Silk Road. Dress up as a trader, monk, camel handler, dancer, artisan or silk maker, plan your journey on the maps, relax in a tent, touch real silkworm cocoons, and more.
Silk Road Storytime
First Saturday of every month at 10:30am
Gather in the travelers’ tent for fabulous tales from along the Silk Road. Included with admission.
Family Tour

Second Saturday of every month at 11am
Enjoy a docent-led tour of collection highlights in a family-friendly format. Best for ages 4 and up, adult participation required. Free, but reservations required; call

Free Family Festivals
Held about three times a year, Saturday afternoon Family Festivals are some of our most popular events! In addition to free admission to the galleries, visitors of all ages enjoy live music, crafts, cultural dance, demonstrations and hands-on activities.
