USC Pacific Asia Museum
Pasadena, California 91101

With the search for a new director successfully completed, USC Provost Elizabeth Garrett and members of the Search Committee are so appreciative of the valuable input they received from many of you as they evaluated the outstanding candidates. These opinions were thoughtfully considered by Provost Garrett who ultimately named Christina, Yu Yu, PhD, an expert in Chinese art and culture from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, as director of USC Pacific Asia Museum.
With the strong support of the university backing the museum, Dr. Yu Yu will have the ability to focus on the strategic direction of USC PAM, its collection, events and fundraising.
Our job now is to make sure Dr. Yu Yu steps into her new role as director with our full support.
I assumed the position of interim director in December 2013 and it was my great privilege to welcome Pacific Asia Museum to the USC community. More important, however, is the warm welcome that the community who supports this wonderful museum gave to those of us at USC. It has been a sincere pleasure to get to know many of you on a personal level. I want to especially thank Susana Smith Bautista, PhD, for her diligent leadership as interim deputy director, and the staff, docents and museum supporters for their support during this time of transition.
The common thread I have discovered since becoming involved here is that all of you care deeply about USC PAM. I know this commitment will allow the museum to continue to inspire, educate and uplift all who encounter it through the journey ahead.
