In 1924 when Grace Nicholson took the bold
step of designing and constructing a building to
resemble a Northern Chinese Imperial style palace,
she may well have foreseen that her project would
become a landmark historical building in Pasadena.
What she probably could not have predicted was
the way that Pacific Asia Museum would become
more than a museum. Today the building and
courtyard provide an elite location for meetings,
photo shoots, weddings and sumptuous gala
events. Over the past six months:

- World-renowned spirits company Remy Martin
selected Pacific Asia Museum following a
nationwide search of potential locations to
launch Remy’s new high-end cognac “Louis
XIII.” The lavish VIP cocktail party and dinner
was attended by international tastemakers
including Magic Johnson.
- Elite tea aficionados from across the
United States, Europe, Hong Kong, Taiwan
and mainland China held their annual conference
on Puerh (pron: poo-ERR) tea at Pacific
Asia Museum.
- The cover story of Opera News featured
Plácido Domingo at Pacific Asia Museum,
promoting his role as
The First Emperor in
the world premiere
of the opera of the
same name.
