Thursday, August 28, 7:30pm
Mark Edward Harris
Inside Iran
The Islamic Republic of Iran is at the center of world attention, yet
it remains largely unknown to the West. Award-winning photographer
Mark Edward Harris traveled throughout Iran to produce the
first contemporary photographic book on a place seldom seen or
understood by outsiders. His images of daily life offer a fascinating
view of a society of juxtapositions – ancient and modern, commercial and spiritual, serene and
intense, political and personal. Inside Iran is a crucial look at a country whose future is likely
to influence our own. Harris will offer a narrated presentation of images from the book.
The evening program will be held in the museum courtyard; please dress accordingly.
