Truck Artist Haider Ali
Colorful trucks and buses are a striking aspect of the landscape and society across Pakistan. Highly personalized designs celebrate regional treasures, legendary heroes, local flora and fauna, movie stars, myths and treasured words of wisdom--truck art is a truly dynamic folk art. Acclaimed artist Haider Ali has been instrumental in introducing this festive art form to a wider, international audience. He will be bringing his talents to USC Pacific Asia Museum, working as an Artist in Residence and transforming a vehicle over the course of a few weeks in a visit organized by the museum's Pakistan Arts Council. He will be at the museum from 10 am to 6 pm on the following days: Oct. 3, 5, 8-12, 15-19 and 22. Check specific dates for additional information.
